Framed Stamp Art Collections
Consistently some of our best sellers for the past ten years, our framed stamp collections - featuring essays and actual matching postage stamps on hundreds of professions and other topics - have convinced many repeat customers that nothing makes a bigger hit than the gift of "stamp art."
What exactly are these popular framed stamp collections? We've taken actual cancelled postage stamps from the United States and around the world - often as old as the early 1900s - and attractively arranged them around a short history of the profession, sport, hobby, or a variety of other themes. Then the whole stamp package is double matted and professionally framed in a handsome dark mahogany and black molding that comes ready to hang.
The first year we started to carry these framed stamps, a gentleman stopped in our Mall of America location with a list of 20 of his business clients and their professions. He wanted us to match one of our popular framed art pieces to the profession of each client - all while he went to lunch. Less than an hour later he returned to find a large portion of his Christmas shopping effectively over! The framed stamp collections were such a hit he stops in each year to buy them for new clients.
Another customer was purchasing so many of the stamp art pieces that we finally asked him what business could possibly have clients in so many professions and sports. We found out that he was an accountant who originally had hung his own CPA framed stamp pieces in his waiting room, only to often walk out and see customers intently reading the copy and examining the old stamps. Eventually, he started to purchase and hang framed stamp collections featuring the professions of big clients, and when that proved popular he decided to "wallpaper" his entire waiting room with as many stamp collections that would fit! His only problem now is coaxing clients out of the waiting area.
The Best Collection of Framed Stamps
Perhaps nothing in our store captures the attention of our store customers more than these unique stamp pieces. Virtually everyone tries to find their own profession or sport - intently reading the copy to see how the various old stamps tie in. Even in our high traffic tourist locations, where customers "jack rabbit" from store to store, it's not unusual for people to stare transfixed for several minutes at our framed stamp wall.
Currently our stamp collections come in more than 400 professions, most military branches and many sports, and many customers choose to add an attractive, inexpensive brass nameplate to their favorite piece of framed stamp art.
